I used to live in STL, and the Bionic Apple was bought every year. Having moved away, I have yet to find any alternatives that taste as good.
They use jumbo apples that are very fresh and crip. So even though they cost more, you can easily split among two or possibly three people (depending on hunger). What really makes them taste so good though is the caramel. It is fantastic, not too hard, not too soft, not too sticky, just awesome. Shipping might be a little higher, but even factoring it in, it is still better than some of the local shops around me. Last order was two bionic apples, and 4 tubs of the caramel, yeah they sell the caramel only during the bionic apple season, so get it while you can, it is that yummy.
